Testing WaterSense® Irrigation Controllers
In this video, Dr. Michael Dukes presents the monitoring equipment used in WaterSense controller testing.
WaterSense®, a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), labels products that save water and perform as well or better than standard models. WaterSense labeled controllers use local weather and landscape conditions to tailor irrigation schedules to actual conditions on the site. Instead of irrigating on a preset schedule set by a clock timer controller, WaterSense labeled controllers allow irrigation to more closely match plants' water requirements. With proper installation, programming, and maintenance, homeowners, businesses, and organizations no longer need to worry about sprinklers automatically operating when landscapes don't need water.
