Dr. Christopher Marble is an assistant professor in ornamental and landscape invasive weed management in the Environmental Horticulture Department. 

Dr. Marble's master's studies focused on organic fertilizers, alternative substrates, and weed control in ornamentals. While pursuing his doctorate in horticulture, he worked with USDA-ARS scientists to determine the role of the horticulture industry on climate change in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestion, while continuing to work on weed control in nurseries and landscapes.

After completing his PhD at Auburn University in 2013, Dr. Marble worked for the University of Tennessee as an Extension Curriculum Developer, developing content for the Tennessee Master Nursery Production Program, an online learning program for nursery growers in the state. He has also worked as a research leader for Syngenta Lawn and Garden in the flowers group evaluating different aspects of greenhouse crop production. He has authored or co-authored 14 peer-reviewed journal articles and has authored over 80 research trial reports for companies such as BASF, Bayer CropScience, Dow AgroSciences, and Syngenta, as well as the IR-4 Research Program.
