Dr. Barrera is an assistant professor in utility analytics for resource efficiency. He received a PhD in systems engineering from the University of Virginia in 2013 and has gained experience in data sciences and systems optimization while working in the internet industry.
Dr. Barrera is interested in the use of data sciences, operations research, and systems modeling to optimize the use of our natural resources.
